4–8 Hours of Unbillable Time After Every Inspection

A significant portion of every tech rep's working hours is not inspection work — it is report writing. After every shop visit, delivery, or lease return, the same painful sequence repeats.

⚠️

Manual Photo Sorting

Export photos from phone to laptop. Sort manually into labelled folders by zone or ATA chapter. Rename files. Cross-reference photo filenames to finding IDs — by hand. Every. Single. Time.

Blank Page, Every Time

Open a Word document. Start from a blank page or last week's template. Write zone-by-zone commentary from memory and scattered notes. Format headings. Number the photos. Add a cover page. Convert to PDF.

⚠️

Revenue-Negative Weeks

For a thorough lease return inspection, this process consumes four to eight hours of unbillable time. Over a year, that is weeks of work done for free — just to produce the deliverable your client is actually paying for.

A Report That Reads Like You Wrote It

The AI-generated report is not a raw data export. It is a professionally written, structured document built from your field data.

Cover Page

Aircraft MSN, registration, inspection type, date, and tech rep name — formatted to a professional standard, automatically populated from your project data.

Executive Summary

Overall condition assessment with key findings highlighted by airworthiness and commercial significance. Clients read this first — it reads like a qualified tech rep wrote it, because it is built from your data.

Zone-by-Zone Narrative

Structured commentary for each inspected zone, written in professional technical English from your brief field notes. The AI handles the prose — you handle the inspection.

Findings Register

Full table of all logged findings with finding ID, description, severity, ATA chapter reference, and photo reference — auto-generated from your structured finding log, zero manual assembly.

Photo Evidence Section

Embedded or referenced photos, organised by zone and finding, captioned automatically. Because photos were tagged at capture, there is nothing to sort or rename after the inspection.

Scope & Limitations

What was inspected, access limitations encountered, and documents reviewed — structured and included automatically so the deliverable is complete and defensible from the first page to the last.

From Field Data to PDF — Five Steps

AircraftInspecti does not ask you to write the report. It writes the report from the structured data you capture during the inspection itself.

01

Open a Project

Create an inspection project linked to the aircraft MSN. The app structures the project by zone and ATA chapter automatically — mirroring how a professional report should be organised.

02

Capture Photos — They Tag Themselves

Take photos directly in the app. Every photo is automatically tagged with the zone, ATA chapter, and finding reference at the moment of capture. No renaming. No sorting. It is already done.

03

Log Findings & Zone Notes

Log each defect with finding ID, severity, ATA chapter, and linked photos. Add brief zone comments — not polished prose, just field notes. The AI will handle the prose.

04

Tap Generate Report

AircraftInspecti's AI engine takes your zone comments, findings, photos, aircraft data, and inspection type and constructs a complete professional inspection narrative. Two to five minutes. PDF ready to send.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about AI inspection report generation.

What is an aircraft inspection report app?

An aircraft inspection report app is a mobile or web application that helps aircraft technical representatives (tech reps) produce structured, professional inspection reports from field data captured during a physical aircraft inspection. A capable report app captures photos, logs findings against ATA chapters and zones, and compiles the data into a formatted PDF document suitable for delivery to a lessor, operator, or MRO. AircraftInspecti goes further by using AI to generate the report narrative automatically — eliminating the manual writing step entirely.

How accurate is the AI-generated inspection report?

The AI generates report narrative from the structured data you enter — zone comments, findings, photo tags, ATA references, and inspection scope. The accuracy of the narrative is therefore directly tied to the quality and completeness of your field data. The AI does not invent findings or fabricate observations. It constructs professional technical prose around what you have recorded. Tech reps who log detailed zone comments get the most detailed reports. The generated narrative should be reviewed before sending, as with any professional document.

Can I edit the AI-generated report before sending it?

Yes. The generated report opens in a review view before PDF export. You can edit any section of the narrative, add or remove content, and adjust the formatting. The PDF is generated only when you are satisfied with the content. AircraftInspecti treats AI generation as a starting point that eliminates the blank-page problem — not as a final output that bypasses professional judgement.

What file format is the inspection report exported in?

Reports are exported as professionally formatted PDFs. The PDF includes the cover page, executive summary, zone narrative, findings register, and photo evidence section. On Pro and Expert plans, you can add your own logo and customise the report header. Reports can be downloaded, emailed directly from the app, or shared via a secure link from the document repository.

Does the app work for all inspection types?

AircraftInspecti supports shop visit inspections, aircraft delivery inspections, aircraft redelivery inspections, and lease return inspections. The project structure and AI narrative are contextualised to the inspection type — a shop visit summary is structured differently from a lease return report, and the app accounts for this. Checklist templates are also adapted by inspection type.

How long does it take to generate a report?

Report generation typically takes between two and five minutes after you initiate it, depending on the volume of findings and zones. The resulting PDF is usually available within the app before you have finished packing up your equipment. Compare that to four to eight hours of manual post-inspection report writing.

Is my inspection data secure?

All data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest and in transit. Photos, findings, and reports are linked to your account and are not accessible to other users. AircraftInspecti does not use your inspection data to train AI models. For enterprise and Corporate plan security requirements — including data residency and access control — contact us directly.

Can I use my own report template?

Custom report templates are available on Pro and Expert plans. You can upload a logo, set your report header and footer, and configure the default cover page fields. For Corporate plan customers, template standardisation across a team of tech reps is available as a configuration option.
